Daniel Smith, a longtime local of the beautiful Sierra Nevada’s, was born in 1970 in Bishop, California. He was raised here in our small community of Lone Pine and has loved spending time here ever since. In 1989, he graduated from Lone Pine High School where he had devoted his school years to playing football for the Lone Pine High Eagles.

Having a long history here in Lone Pine, Daniel has been on the water board and was a Captain of the Lone Pine Fire Department for many years. He loves volunteering his time to helping the community and is currently the President of Southern Inyo Salvation Foundation; an organization dedicated to providing assistance to the community of Lone Pine and Southern Inyo Healthcare District in times of need. Along with this, he also is our Director of Materials Management here at SIHD.

Daniel is an avid football fan (GO RAIDERS!) and enjoys spending quality time outdoors, going shooting and fishing. He has been in numerous big name movies, including Ironman and What I’d Do For Love. He has a beautiful wife and 3 children, 2 of them attending school here in Lone Pine. Despite presently residing in Ridgecrest, Daniel drives back and forth 5 days a week as he loves the community and wants to continue raising his family with the same love and care Lone Pine has shown him throughout the years.

Daniel Smith would like to thank the community of Lone Pine for helping provide him and his family with countless incredible memories, a great place to work and attend school, and many loyal friends.
